Jarred was born on Earth, (22)4507.02, the son of a promiment Physicist and Malcholm Weyer and Botanist Marissa Weyer. Both were graduates of University of Colorado Boulder and not members of Starfleet. Growing up, Jarred, like his parents, took an interest in intellectual pursuits: Law, computer science, engineering, etc. His parents instilled him an almost fanatical adherence to ethics, causing him to be what many call a "goody two shoes". Around the age of 9 Jarred won the opportunity to meet with a member of starfleet as champion of his schools 3d chess team. This particuarly well spoken Officer inspired Jarred to want to join Starfleet.
Jarrad graduated Starfleet Academy with a double major in Computer Science and Electronics Engineering in Operations. Ensign Jarred Weyer is currently serving aboard the USS Farragut, patrolling the Deneb Core.

Very strict, decided he would only ever have 1 child and believes that if his offspring don't do great things he's a failure. Great source of motivation but also very stressful to have as a father figure. Like a classic 1950's professor with a pip and study. E.g. "Papa, I got an A in Maths." "Why are you taking algebra at 9, shoudln't you be in advanced calculus?"
Mother: Marissa Weyer
Opposite, is a botanist and feels that it's her job to have a gentle loving way of interacting with things. Believes in nurturing people. Is probably the only reason Jarred didn't break under the stress of academically inclined parents.
Best Friend: Jackson Wey
They went to Starfleet academy together. Both members of the 3d chess team. Jackson is a member of the command branch and has a sparkling personality, way with ladies. Also serving on a different ship.
Arch-Nemesis: Billy Rosling
A large athlete who dislikes anyone who can't (or dislikes) to fight. Large and not very smart many say the only reason he got into the academy is becuase of his parents.
Ex-Girlfriend: Sarah Hartwell
A Psycology student with a tendency to be domineering and abrasive. Wears her hair in a pigtail works on a different crews, brokeup due to not wanting a long distance relationship.
Assessment
Jarred seems to be motivated by a drive that isn't quite his own. Those that know him closely will be a little disconcerted when he talks about his Father.
Much like his parents he has a inquisitive personality, though he takes it to new levels. Often digging into things that he ought not dig into to figure out how they work, though he takes pains not to break any rules.
In general, Jarred seems to take particular pains to not break any rules or regulations of Starfleet or interstelar law, making his prerogative to study and be aware of such rules.
