Act 3: Orion Welcome

Since they are being welcomed by Thumi, the Orion Captain, the PCs have managed to attract the attention of the Orions. (If the Orions are unaware of the shuttlecraft's approach, then ignore this act and go back to Act 1: Approaching the Asteroid or Act 2: Jindarian Welcome.) Thumi's motive in engaging the PCs is to determine how much they know, especially about the safe-house on Terilek Prime. Thumi will invite the PCs over for some legendary Orion hospitality after Pebble is loaded up with contraband. Thumi and the other Orions will claim to be prospectors. If asked, they will insist Shindar, the Jindarian, joined them of his own free will--which is true; but they do intend to rid themselves of him once they're comfortable with his ship. Rumla--the green Orion slave girl, will attempt to seduce the PC's male leader.

If all the PCs come aboard, the PC's shuttlecraft will be bobby-trapped by Tomean. Otherwise, it will be shot at if/when it tries to follow the Pebble (with Makal--the Klingon engineer/tech, Rainhavi--the sci/med, and Shindar--the Jindarian) to Terilek Prime. Makal, Rainhavi, and Shindar will wait at the safe-house for orders to either scrub the safe-house or return to Rock.

Tomean will escort any PC that leaves the group, with one exception--Rumla will escort the male leader PC in order to seduce him. She'll make make this offer herself if she has to.

Orions are an uncommon (-2) copper-blooded (-5) species. Kzniti are a rare (-5) mammalian (-5) species.

Scene 1: Receiving a Hale from Thumi

Setting: Most likely in a shuttlecraft at station keeping near a 30 x 20 x 18 yd3 asteroid.

Activities:

E Op (Communications)+5(routine)
A pleasant Orion gentleman has opened communications with the PCs. [pleasantly]: Welcome to the Terilek system. I'm Thumi. How is it that my little prospecting operation has come to attract the attention of Starfleet? Thumi is quite engaging and will insist that the entire party spacewalks over to experience some legendary Orion hospitality.
Detect Lies after 30m and a successful Xenology-2(Orion) roll vs 15(Thumi's Acting+5(for full prep)
Thumi is not a prospector. His team is tasked with the maintenance of the Terilek Prime safe-house. While Shindar is not a slave, they do intend to get rid of him as soon as they're comfortable with his ship.

Success: They suspect Thumi's duplicity. They may still accept his invitation, or they may decide to disengage--go back to Act 1: Disengaging and Calling Home.

Failure: The are taken in by Thumi's charms. They will spacewalk into the lounge. See Act 4: Upper Level for details about the Rock ship.

Scene 2: Spacewalking to the Asteroid

Setting: Somewhere in and/or between the shuttlecraft and a 30 x 20 x 18 yd3 asteroid.

Activities:

Vacc Suit
Roll for yourself and again to check at least on buddy. Even on a critical failure, it should be obvious once depressurization starts that something is wrong and should be aborted. If not, another Vacc Suit rolls could be made by a buddy to fix a bad seal, but not after some FP loss. If these is not buddy around, the GM might have to get creative to keep the hapless PC from eventually loosing all pressure. As these vacc suits make use of mechanical counter-pressure (MCP) technology, there is no -1 to DX while wearing them in most cases e.g. E Op, Beam Weapons. There is a -1 to Perception, unless the helmet is removed.
Free Fall or HT when first encountering zero-G
On a failure: nauseated (-2 to almost everything) [B428]. Check HT again to keep from Retching [B429]. All this should be played more for amusement as opposed to life threatening.
Free Fall
Consider this skill a cap to DX and all DX based skills.
Free Fall
To float to/from the shuttle to an airlock without embarrasing yourself.

Success: Have made it to or back from the asteroid ship..

Failure: You puked and/or look like a cadet trying to make your way to an airlock.

Scene 3: Being Entertained by Orions.

Setting: In the lounge of the Jindarian Rock Ship with Thumi (captain) and Tomean (covert) and Rumla (slave girl). Thumi will try to figure out why the PCs are here, how long they're staying, and if they know anything about Terilek Prime. Tomean will observe. Rumla will observe then seduce.
